My Top 5 Game Changers: G.C #1

Hello new readers!
I have not posted on my blog for a long time, but I feel that I want to get back at it. To dedicate myself and welcome myself back to the blogging community, I will be posting very special posts everyday until Sunday. I am very excited about these posts, and  I know that you will be as well!
To jump right into things...I love makeup! I love makeup so much that my friends know not to take me into shoppers drug mart, because I just get carried away with colors and formulas and yummy names like 'sorbet lip butter'.
I do not claim to be an expert, but I do believe I posses a certain amount of  know how and understanding when it comes to makeup products and makeup application. I have always shared my secrets and tips with everyone that wants to know. If you like, love, love/hate, or wish to learn a little more about makeup, then check back everyday, because these tips (although small) were GAME CHANGERS for me, and I think they will be for you too! Enjoy and read on!

My first Game changer has to do with foundation application.

What I wanted
When I began to wear makeup in high school I used my fingers to apply my foundation. When I went to university I used a flat foundation brush that Mac was pushing at the time. The finishes I was getting with these methods ranged from cakey to uneven and thin.Where was that perfect flawless finish?

The Product
This is when I went back to my roots... When I first started to have  my makeup done 'once in a blue moon' when I was 5 or 6, my teenage sister used a sponge to apply my foundation. I thought of this and did some product research to find the best type of makeup sponges out there and most importantly HOW TO USE THEM PROPERLY! Sephora sells the 'Beauty Blender' for $32.... No! Don't do it! Shoppers Drug mart sells an identical and arguably better shaped one for $5! This $5 beauty blender is purple and is sold by Quo, you can find it in the Quo stand that holds their brushes.

 How to use it
Now.. this part is important.
I was talking to my friend about how great this Quo Blender is and how it was a game changer for me, and she said "I've had that for a while now, it's okay I guess"
What!!! this was my holly grail, so much more than OK?!
Then I found out that she was not using it properly.  This blender MUST be used damp. After she adjusted her technique, she also agreed... this is a game changer.

You can experiment with how damp you like to use the blender, I like to use mine with quiet a bit of water. But, test it, play with it, and eventually you will have it just right.

Technique:  Dot your foundation around your face. Take the damp Blender and with quick pressing motions move it all around your face. Press the foundation into your skin, don't wipe it around. I use the pointed side for around my eyes and nose   and the flat side for the rest of my face. make sure to work past jaw to avoid lines.

The End Result:
For me the end result is evenly dispersed foundation. No jaw lines, no build up around eyes and nose. Smooth and natural.

Its $5.. that's a coffee.. how can you lose?
Check back in tomorrow!
