10 steps to Planning the perfect Summer

Now is the time to start planning your summer! Sometimes a spontaneous summer is great.. and other times  we can be left thinking "I've done nothing all summer!". Here are a few tips to ensure you live it up this summer! A little planning now can make a huge difference!

1. Buy tickets to something: A concert, a live play in the park, a comedy show, or anything really! Events like these are a great way to relax and have some fun.... and as Riggs would say...make some memories.

2. Make sure you are near water at the very least once a week- if its a river, pool, lake, or ocean...make it happen! Being near water is a fulfilling part of summer.. My motto is "A day at the beach is NEVER wasted". Work it into your weekly schedule.

3. What can your city do for you? Look up when your city is hosting Fireworks, outdoor movies, parades, or festivals. Pencil them into your calendar. This way you know when everything is, and are more likely to attend them!

4. Plan your summer wardrobe. Make sure you have what you need! Nothing is more stressful than trying to get ready for something and not having anything to wear! Looking through your summer clothes before summer starts allows you to evaluate what you need. Ask yourself, do I have something I could wear to a BBQ? Picnic? Wedding Shower? A night out? To the beach? Do I have basics (white tank, jean shorts, ect)?

5. Plan one camping trip/cabin trip/Hotel Stay: Sure you may spontaneously go on more than one, but make sure you have at least one in the books! That way the weekends wont get away from you, and you will have at least one get away this summer. My friends and I once all got a hotel room for two nights and spent the days tanning and sipping by the pool. So much fun.

6. Plan one road trip with your girlfriends. This is SO much fun, and if you haven't done one then please start planning it right now. Decide who you are going with and start to map out where you are going and where you will stop! (Also pick the date)! This would go great with #5!

7. Get healthy. There is still SO much time to get healthy and tone up!When you are healthy you feel good.

8. Go bikini shopping- Do it now while you still have time to shop around for the perfect one! Nothing is worse than last minute realizing your old one is sagged out, or speed shopping and buying one you hate for lack of options.

9. Pick out 3  new restaurants that you want to try, and pick a girlfriend or boyfriend to try them with. Make it your goal to go to all of them this summer! Trying new things is exciting and fun! And excellent for making memories! Plan for a Taxi and order a pitcher of Margarita or Sangria! Yum!

10. Make a plan for your tan and**other things**: If you don't care about having a tan then forget about it, but if you are one of those people who in June puts on shorts and thinks "Ah! I am Casper's long lost cousin!", then make a little plan to avoid this yearly shock :) This always used to happen to me! There are great fake tanning lotions out there, I am going to use Jergens this year :) **Other... book those waxing appointments! The good Waxing salons fill up fast in the summer. :)

  2. Awesome tips! This summer I plan to spend as much time as possible by the ocean!! Which shouldn't be too hard because NS is practically surrounded by the ocean! Road trips will definitely be happening as well!
