My Summer Beauty Tricks!

Summer Beauty Tricks and Tips
Face:
Makeup Feel too Heavy? Create you own BB Cream by adding one part moisturizer, two parts foundation, or even one part moisturizer one part foundation. The  foundation that you love with the sheerness and lightweight feel that you crave!
Opt for that fresh look
Does matte foundation just not feel right all of a sudden? I don't  know about you but... 'matte' is just not my thanggg all of a sudden! I want that fresh dewy summer glow!.... but I love my foundation..... but I don't like it's finish all of a sudden... but I love its texture and its shade and its coverage!!  No worries. Add a few pumps of  L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer to your matte foundation to give it a more luminous fresh look! I have been doing this with my Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous and it looks great! The ELF liquid  luminimizer also works, and it is like $2!

Body:
Razor Irritation: I had always thought that Bikini Zone was only for the bikini line! But I was wrong!
First...If you have never heard of this product, it is a gel that is meant to sooth after shaving/waxing irritation in the 'bikini zone'.
Well! I have been using it on my legs and arm pits! I have VERY sensitive skin, and my skin (no matter which brand of shaving lotion or razor) is always irritated after shaving. This just does the trick! It also makes my legs feel SO smooth!
Where to find it: Any Drugstore in the Waxing isle.
Real Deal Tan: OK.... I don't even like telling people about this.... because I am naturally pretty competitive about my tan. Every girl that has a best friend will understand this lol. Fortunately I've been humbled because there is really no competing with my boyfriend, who is olive toned, and bronzes like a Greek God without even trying. humph. lol. OK so here is my secret for bronzing fast! Maui Babe! NOTE: This has ZERO SPF, which can be very dangerous. Do not wear this alone if you burn easily or if your skin hasn't seen much sun this season. Here is what I do...Since I am naturally pale, I wear this product over my favorite SPFS! This past weekend I wore it over SPF 15 and 30! Let the SPF soak in first, and then put the tanning oil/lotion over top! (It looks like lotion, but it is oil).

Hair:

No-Heat Easy style: Girlfriends, no one wants to start up the curling iron or straightener in this heat! Moroccan Oil is my alternative. I have been turning to this product every day! I have a natural curl in my hair, and I find that this helps reform my curls in a natural soft, smoothing way.  My hair always looks so shiny and healthy afterwards!
This is also perfect for the beach or convertibles! Your hair is free to blow around in the wind and wont be a hot hairspray mess at the end of the day!

I used this oil in my YouTube Video! Seriously... that is the only thing I did to my hair! It is so amazing!

Where to find it: I use both the real Moroccanoil and the cheaper Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco
I used the Marc Anthony one in the video :) You can find it at Drugstores.

In the Mews right Meow:
I keep finding Mew Mew sleeping like this! Too hot for a kitty cat!

How I Get My Summertime Bronzed Glow!

HELLO! I have been working on my first YouTube Video so I have not been in the blogger world for a while! I look forward to catching up on all of the blogs I love to read!

If you have not seen it yet! Here is my first YouTube video! I would be SO grateful if you wanted to subscribe to my channel or give it a thumbs up on YouTube!! Thanks!!!

As for today! I wanted to mention the products that are helping me get that bronzed glow that I just love this time of year!

Here are some selfies from the wekeend that I think showcase either my tan or my glow! (Iphone pics! Sorry!)

Okie Dokie! So here is how I got my Bronzed glow!!

1. Spray Tan! I went to a reputable tanning salon and got my first ever Machine Spray Tan! I was very worried because usually I get an actual person to do it! And all I could think of was Ross from Friends and his epic Machine Tan Fail! But I was SO HAPPY WITH IT. Because of the direct sun, the three photos above don't show the tan very well, but I think these two below really do! Just a nice toasted bronze!

2. Now I was thiiiissssss close to buying my foundation in a darker colour for this tan... and then I just stopped... and reached for a cheaper product! I picked up the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in 'Sunny' for $2.99! I have heard that this bronzer is a dupe for the Hoola bronzer.. not sure about that, because it is not as dark, but it was FANTASTIC at warming up my foundation! I didn't put it everywhere, but was a lot more liberal in the blending out step than I would be without a tan!

3. OK so now my skin matched by body but I didn't have any definition! I used my slightly darker Hoola Bronzer and my even darker ELF bronzer to contour! Which I think shows really nicely in this picture below.

YA.. I know this is the third time I've posted it lol!

4. Now for that glow! I'll be honest... I was at a Roof Top Patio Birthday Party in this picture, and had been sitting in the sun for hours! So I am a little dewy from sweat lol! But the rest of the glow is from my Mary-LouManizer Highlighter from The Balm (a little pricey, I've heard there are close dupes)!  I used this product in my YouTube video, which shows that a little goes a long way! This needs to be put in specific areas (top of cheek bones, bridge of nose, bow in lip, center of forehead, and chin) but just a tiny bit!.... You don't want to show up to the party as Edward Cullen!

"Hey guys... thanks for inviting me".
Here are all of the products!
1. ELF Contouring Bush a Bronzer: Found at American Targets, Eyeslipsface.com, and maybe some Canadian London Drugs.

2.NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in the colour 'Sunny'. Found at Wallmart

3. Hoola Bronzer by Benefit: Found at Shoppers Drugmart

4. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. Found at Rexall

Anyways! This is what I have been doing to speed walk my way into a bronzed glowing look this Spring!
What changed do you make in your makeup process for the Summer?!

Keep it real!

P.S I love this video SO MUCH because it has four of my favorite Models in it! Natasha Poly, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima. and Joan  Smalls!

Great Drugstore Makeup for Under $5

Hey Everyone!
I haven't blogged in a little bit, so here is the kind of post that I just love!

Great Drugstore Makeup for Under $5

Sure there is a lot of makeup at the drugstore for under $5, but as I am sure you know.... a lot of it is not that great. Although, every once in a while, we do come across some GREAT cheap Drugstore gems!

Here are three of my favorite Drugstore buys for Under $5!
I am wearing all three in these pictures :)

Rimmel Stay Matte:
Shade: Translucent
Price:
  • USA Target: $3.99!!
  • Canada: The regular price in Canada is about $8.99, but do not pay this! Rimmel is always on sale at Places like Rexal, London Drugs, and Shoppers. Wait for a sale, because it will %100 come around!
Why I Love It: This is my GO TO powder. This powder is EXCELLENT if you tend to get a little oily. It has a beautiful matte finish but does not make you chalky! I also love the 'translucent' shade because it does not give that artificial powder colour. This powder is perfect for that flawless look!
How I use it: I dust this over my entire face and down my neck to set my foundation. Apply this after your foundation but before your bronzer, blush, highlight.

Wet and Wild: Color Icon Collection Bronzer:
Shade: Reserve Your Cabana
Price:
  • USA: Wallgreens $3.99 (on sale fro $2.99)
  • Canada: I cant find the price online for W&W, but it is cheap! :)
Why I love it: This is not really a bronzer, it is more of a neutral highlight that give a really nice subtle glow! This would be perfect for those of you that don't want to be too glowy or too matte! It also smells fantastic, like a day at the beach!

How I Use it: I use this on the high points of my face (upper cheek bone lines, bridge of nose, center of forehead). I use this product after my powder, bronzer, and blush.

Wet and Wild: Color Icon
Shades: Walking on Eggshells, Silent Treatment, I'm Getting Sunburn, Sweet as Candy
Price:
  • USA: Wallgreens $2.99 (On sale for $1.99)
  • Canada: I cant find the price online for W&W, but it is cheap! :)
Why I Love Them: These eye shadows are raved about ALL over the Internet! They are super pigmented and come in the prettiest shades. I have all of the ones listed above, and adore them all. My favorite is Walking on Egg Shells and Sweet as Candy. The pinks in all of these shadows are SO pretty.
How I use them: Check out my post that features these shadows HERE!

You really can't go wrong! They are all so affordable!

Gift Idea: Mimosa Gift Basket

Hello everyone, I wanted to get a post up before the weekend was over!
I came up with this idea a few years back, and made it into a Pin. To this day I still get notifications saying people have re-pinned this, and recently I have been getting those notifications every single day! So I thought, hey this must be a hot idea right now, I should blog about it once again!

The idea is a Mimosa Gift Basket. These are excellent for so many occasions, including house warming, bridal showers, mothers day, birthdays, and much more!
I think any mom would be very pleased with a Mimosa Gift basket on mother's day mornng!

Since it involves perishables, the idea is to prepare the basket the night before, stick it in the fridge over night, and gift it the next morning! This is a celebration gift basket, and since it is all chilled, encourage your special someone to open it right away! There is no time like the present to celebrate!

You can do this on a budget or you can go all out! The quality of the champagne glasses and champagne is up to you! I did a bit of a mixture, using dollar store champagne glasses but a good bottle of Prosecco!
** Note: Champagne is a misguided title... if it is not from the Champagne France then it is not Champagne. I recommend you get a nice bottle of Prosecco, which is bubbly and perfect for the recipe!

Artistically You will Need: All available at the dollar store or Micheal's

  • Brown raffia
  • A Sturdy Basket
  • Clear Cellophane/ or a gift basket wrap bag (a cellophane bag)
  • Pretty Ribbon
 What goes in the basket:

  • 2 Champagne Glasses
  • 1 bottle of Prosseco
  • 2 Oranges
  • 2 Lemons
  • 1 recipe card (I like mine to be 1/2 and 1/2)
Assembly:

Fill the basket with the raffia and start planting things inside. Make sure everything is facing one way, and all labels are showing. Nothing should be hidden. You should be able to see it all.

Wrapping:
If you don't have a gift basket bag (sold at dollar stores), you may need to tape two pieces of cellophane together to get nice coverage. Place the basket in the center and gather the cellophane at the top. Make sure it is not too scrunchy around the front, you want to be able to see through it and see the present! Tie it up  tightly with the ribbon.

Happy Sunday!

Have you ever made a gift basket?
